CORAL

Coral is an organic gemstone. It is are created from living matter like plants. Coral is not lustrous in its natural state, but when polished and properly waxed, it displays a very smooth, glossy sheen. The most common coral color is white, but for jewelry, the variety used is typically pink, pink-red or red. These varieties are known as precious coral or red coral. Used extensively in ancient times, Coral has been found in Egyptian tombs and prehistoric European burial sites.
